Guile-Gcrypt provides a Guile 2.x interface to a subset of the GNU Libgcrypt crytographic library, which is itself used by the GNU Privacy Guard (GPG). Guile-Gcrypt provides modules for cryptographic hash functions, message authentication codes (MAC), public-key cryptography, strong randomness, and more. It is implemented using the foreign function interface (FFI) of Guile.
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
